The journey to get the rights for this premiere was a play itself. Director
Katie Bales gets kudos for her impassioned royalty request and creative
staging. Twenty-something scenes, nearly as many different locations,
a car, and only two black-outs. The Possum Play was also where
we experimented with the notion of having company members coming to
final rehearsals to give notes and offer constructive criticism. This
practice is largely responsible, I believe, for our success this year.
