ETHYL EICHELBERGER (1945-1990)
A classically trained actor, he is primarily remembered as a solo drag performer. Between 1973 and 1990 he created a galaxy of solo and group performance works based on the lives of great women of literature, history and myth. His 30 some plays garnered Obie and Villager awards and include Nefert-iti, Klytemnestra, Medea, Jocasta, Lucrezia Borgia and Lola Montez.
